Meanwhile, the AGI Foundations Team will concentrate on foundational research, specifically enhancing Meta’s Llama models to push the boundaries of artificial general intelligence. This strategic move comes as Meta intensifies its competition with industry leaders like OpenAI and Google. Reinforcing its commitment to innovation, Meta recently launched the Startups Llama program to support generative AI startups by providing access to its Llama models. The restructure is designed to separate short-term product goals from long-term research efforts, ultimately aiming to accelerate product development while maintaining leadership in cutting-edge AI research.
