Hi everyone! 👋 Welcome to Day 6 of my CRM development journey in PHP and MySQL. Today, I focused on creating the Notes & Activity Log module, which is essential for keeping track of important activities and information. Here's what I accomplished today:

🗂️ Folder Structure

I organized the project files for the Notes & Activity Log Module as follows:

Notes Folder Structure

  • add_notes.php: A form to add new notes or activity logs, complete with fields like title, description, and date.
  • view_notes.php: Displays a list of all notes with options to view or filter them.
  • delete_notes.php: Handles the deletion of notes, ensuring easy removal when needed.
  • update_notes.php: Allows users to edit existing notes, providing a seamless way to update records.

✍️ Features Implemented

1️⃣ Add Notes

The Add Notes Page (add_notes.php) allows users to create new activity logs or notes.

  • Fields for title, description, and date.
  • Validation ensures that all fields are filled in properly before submission.

2️⃣ View Notes

The View Notes Page (view_notes.php) displays all saved notes in a table format.

  • Sorting and Filtering: Users can filter notes by date, category, or title.
  • Pagination to handle large volumes of data efficiently.

3️⃣ Delete Notes

The Delete Notes Page (delete_notes.php) allows users to remove any notes they no longer need.

  • Confirmation prompts before deletion to prevent accidental removals.

4️⃣ Update Notes

The Update Notes Page (update_notes.php) allows users to edit existing notes.

  • Pre-filled Fields: Notes are pre-populated with existing data for easy updates.
  • Validation ensures no empty fields are submitted during updates.

🎨 Styling & Animations

Tailwind CSS

  • Used Tailwind CSS for styling all pages, ensuring a clean, modern, and responsive layout.
  • Utility classes for quick and efficient styling of forms, buttons, tables, and navigation elements.

jQuery Animations

  • Integrated jQuery for smooth animations on form submissions, button clicks, and page transitions.
  • Added a fade-in effect when displaying notes and activity logs, improving the user experience.

🔑 What I Learned Today

  1. Integrating jQuery for Animations: I learned how to add smooth transitions to form submissions and table interactions to enhance the overall user experience.
  2. Efficient Data Handling: Creating the delete and update functionalities was a great way to manage data dynamically.
  3. Tailwind CSS for Responsive Design: Tailwind helped me create a responsive, visually appealing design that adapts well across different screen sizes.
