I only do it w/ non coding stuff (papers, my huge passwords spreadsheet, photos, etc)

Oooh yeeah, I tell it off all the time. And make sure to point out that a jr would probably have blindly followed the bad advice. Then thumbs down the response.
If you use the #codebase tag it tends to try and match your own style more and if you put style guidelines in a DEVELOPMENT.md file it will do a bit better at this.

There is actually a good reason for saying thanks.
If enough people say thanks, and OpenAI or Google uses all your chats for training data, then hopefully the AI will be nicer (because the training data is nice).
