George JohnsonAug 5, 2025Once got AWS spend warning for an annual renewal that went through at $925,000 out of nowhere. Thing was it didn't say what it was, so what's a techie to do, what to do.....call several senior managers and cause a panic at 5.30am!

If they hand the 5 year old second-hand laptop from a biz person who just got upgraded....
OisínSep 4, 2025I first used it in as an intern in 2006 and thought it was amazing... Then a year later I started my postgrad studies and installed Eclipse on an older Pentium III machine with 256 MB of RAM.
I'd be typing code and it would suddenly just freeze solid and enter swap death for like 30 seconds, before the rest of what I'd typed suddenly spammed out in one burst.

Ok, my pi 4 BOOTS vsCode, but that's it, no opening files. Or folders. (kinda like eDex-ui when it was still developed for the pi)
