dev.to conference? 😃💁

Happy Friday, folks. Some brilliant minds are contributing here as community members. Every day, I discover unique content after a bit of filtering, of course.

What's your take on organizing a community Dev.To conference where we all can share what we are learning in a virtual (or offline?) way.

I am aware that there are many other events like that. What could be the value proposition of such an event?

This is more like a discussion than a proposal.

@bogomil should have called it, "Top 10 Dev conferences to change your life" instead 😂.

It looks like there wasn't one this year, but they helped with Codeland the past few years and hosting it online since the pandemic 🤔

On my way home from border:none, a small conference in the spirit of beyond Tellerrand recalling the discussions about what topics make people attend conferences these days. While some say that there hasn't been enough technological content at both recent conferences this year, it seems appropriate to focus on personal stories, inspiration and hallway talks in times of work from home.

I also like hybrid events that try to combine the best of meeting in real life and international connection leveraging the world wide web, video conferencing or innovative/experimental collaboration tools like Gather or Wonder. That wouldn't stop me attending actual events in person.

A specific focus of a DEV conference might be its practical, inclusive and open minded approach beyond a specific technology stack, expertise level, or region of the world. A series of hybrid events around the world might be an appropriate format to bring this diverse spirit to real life.

Just to say we most definitely hear you, Bogomil. We're thinking on this! 💚
