I just started a new job (😃).

I was going through the initial procedures and opening tickets with the IT team when I saw "SW installation".

I thought: "What's that?"

That's when I discovered that in addition to SW, there's also HW.

SW = S oft w are (systems and PC applications)
HW = H ard w are (physical PC components)

Well, I hadn't seen these abbreviations before on my tech journey. I hope this helps so that it's not a surprise when you come across them.
