Program Overview

STARTathon is a 4-month event with two main tracks:

• Global Track: Open to developers worldwide, focusing on innovation across key Web3 sectors.
• Local Track: Targeting regional markets in Asia, specifically South Korea, Vietnam, and Japan, in collaboration with Metis’s local incubation partners.

Participants can also compete in three bounty categories:

• Cross-Chain DeFi Solutions and CCIP
• Real World Asset (RWA) Tokenization Platforms
• Tokenized Communities and Gamified Social Platforms

With more than $200,000 in METIS prizes, STARTathon offers milestone-based funding for projects that show consistent progress. Open to both global and regional innovators, the program provides opportunities for developers at every stage.

STARTathon’s format combines fast-paced development with long-term growth potential, making it appealing to both emerging and established projects. The milestone-based funding structure rewards participants as they advance through three key phases: Proof of Deployment, Proof of Improvement, and Proof of Traction. Each phase is tracked via Thrive, ensuring transparency and accountability.

In addition, selected projects may qualify for a curated Gitcoin QF round, offering further matching funds to promising teams.
