In the burgeoning world of cryptocurrency and blockchain, where innovation and opportunity are constantly on the rise, so too are the attempts to exploit these spaces by malicious actors. At DeMonopol, we’ve always prided ourselves on our due diligence, especially when it comes to partnerships and public engagements. However, even the most vigilant can occasionally find themselves facing unexpected challenges, as we recently did with Crypto Whale Global.
We were approached by Crypto Whale Global (@CryptoWhale1988 on Telegram) for an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, an offer that seemed promising given their following and engagement on X. Given the volume of similar requests we receive — around 30 a day — we have a rigorous verification process in place. We checked their Twitter presence, confirmed their identity through official channels, and everything seemed legitimate. They were who they claimed to be, at least.
The reality turned out to be quite different. When the AMA commenced, it became immediately apparent that something was amiss. The host, who we expected to be a real person, was an AI simulation, clearly identifiable and the majority of the listeners were bots, not genuine community members. This realization was both startling and disheartening. We value authenticity, transparency, and genuine interaction, principles that were clearly violated in this scenario.
We took swift action, ending the AMA session immediately. This experience has been a stark reminder of the types of scams that exist within our industry. We want to extend our sincerest apologies to any real members of our community who took the time to join the AMA, expecting a genuine interaction. Your time and trust are invaluable to us, and we deeply regret that this event did not meet our standards or yours.
This incident underscores the importance of community vigilance and collective action against such fraudulent practices. Scammers like Crypto Whale Global not only undermine the integrity of our projects but also erode trust within the broader crypto community. It’s crucial that we stand together to identify, expose, and prevent these deceptive practices.
In appreciation of our genuine supporters who joined the AMA, and as a gesture of our commitment to real engagement, DeMonopol will be hosting our own AMA session. This will be an opportunity for us to connect directly with you, our community, in a transparent, authentic environment. We’ll announce the details across all our social media platforms soon, ensuring that our followers are the first to know.
Let this serve as a warning to all within our community and beyond. Always approach partnerships with a stringent eye. We encourage everyone to share their experiences, report suspicious activities, and help us build a safer, more trustworthy ecosystem.
