Can we please get articles on here that are not so low effort or lists? I swear all I see on this site are articles that are just top lists that you can tell are from people just reading the articles of others and then just making the same list.

    Feeling the same. Lots of lists with very little thought. Hard to find anyone producing decent content 😔

      Wish they would use a service to score how likely a post is to be AI generated and then give those very highly likely post a shadow ban. This could get these “creators” to cut down since they would get minimal traffic.

        I've looked into this for my blogging platform that happens to be specifically against AI generated content. The main problem is that it's extremely expensive. For instance, GPTZero costs 45$ a month for only 300k words. Which doesn't sound too bad, but when you consider that (based on my estimations from the Dev.to API) the average post is about 800-1000 words and there are anywhere from 200-600 articles/day posted (a lot of these being spam)... it adds up. There are definitely workarounds though. But even with those in mind, I think Dev.to would still be looking at $100+/month.

      The only problem is that most sites like this have the same problem. People are using articles to pad their resume just like some authors on Packt.

        True, but since following a few devs on Mastodon i feel that get enough programming related information. When i find time i want to migrate my posts. After this i see If i really quit.

    Daily.dev is worth a shot because of its customizable feed. I still get a lot of "slop" (AI generated content, content with no thought put into it, etc.) on there though.

    Edit: There's also an extremely annoying "AI summary" at the top of each article that you can't get rid of.
