Btrfs (B-tree File System) is not brand new, but it's a relatively modern Linux file system compared to older ones like ext3 or ext4.
𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘁𝗿𝗳𝘀:
🔹 Snapshots (great for backups and rollback)
🔹 Copy-on-write (COW) design
🔹 Check-summing for data integrity
🔹 Subvolumes for logical separation
🔹 Dynamic resizing of volumes
🔹 Built-in RAID support
🔹 Online defragmentation
✔️ Btrfs will be unsreplaceable.
✔️ So it's not merely a new file system, it's time to redesign the whole system architecture.
"One day everyone will use Btrfs. But those who make it through it first will be the winners today."
