It's Time to Clean Your Disgusting Mechanical Keyboard

I was taught from a young age just how dirty computers could become after long time in a common space which borders the kitchen as well as the living room, particularly the keyboard. Food particles, grease, particles, and everything within get trapped in the cracks of keys, and in places you've never imagined possible. Now that I'm a fan of mechanical keyboards and making them customizable I've needed to create the perfect cleaning routine that will ensure that every keyboard in my area is always prepared for its close-up.

My techniques are fairly typical, and they depend on items you may already have in your home. I'm talking about Q-tips and dish soap and isopropyl Alcohol. I've also purchased a handful of items over the years that I've found especially useful, such as the keycap puller that has the handle made of metal as well as a handheld keyboard vacuum. The vacuum also ensures that other parts of my desk are clear of dirt.

This is how you can clean the mechanical keyboard if you've been feeling that it's time to get rid of the dirt that has taken the shine off your expensive kit. If you're using a regular mechanical keyboard that's commonplace it is important to ensure that the springs remain in good shape and your keys remain shining as new. This method will not apply to the membrane keyboard, in which every key is tied to the keyboard.
