In recent times there has been an increase in filing petitions online. I know you can relate with how our friends send us petitions asking us to sign on them to make an impact .
Now how these petitions work and how we can help by singing them for a better cause ? Have you ever thought about it ?
Being a common person with such a hectic lifestyle it's difficult to pause and reflect on these issues . Believe it was the same for me too . But i would like to share my knowledge with you by what i know :
PIL ( public interest litigation) are petitions that are filed by the ngos , common people or law associates on behalf of a person or a community who are suffering from a cause but are not that empowered maybe socially , mentally , academically or many more issues to raise a voice for themselves.
These PIL are filed in the SC but as we know our Estimated SC have so many issues to deal with so it becomes chaotic to deal with it all . That's why a specific no. Has been attached to signatories of the petition to present it in the court and to represent the weightage that particular petition holds . That's why We are constantly asked to sign on one or the other .
