Exactly! Wherever I see a programming related video which does not get to the point within 30 seconds, you've lost me. And I keep the same in mind while creating videos on my channel as well.
I follow Brad Traversy, darkcoder, mosh Hamedani, colt steel. Except for Darkcoder, all of them are excellent teachers. There’s are great difference between a teacher and someone who is doing a tutorial. Darkcoder doesn’t talk much, he is just building great stuff with vanilla html, css and javascript. His channell can be considered a silent tutorial house. I really like real though candy who is talking about the industry. I feel like we all want to learn from the best in the game. I hope your content will be great for all levels. Please help us master the knowledge of architecturing a solution. Where does design patterns, data structures and algo falls into place.
Dark Coder is very cool to watch. I've been building large scale apps for projects that have cost up to 100 million so will definitely be able to create some content on architecture and design patterns 💜
One that comes to mind is the Coders Tape YT Channel (Php Laravel stuff). The guy making these video's realy takes his time to make things clear by starting easy, show how something could be done, and then stepping it up, showing how it "should" be done and how it's working under the hood. I discover a new youtube channel who record his videos also as podcast .
It's in arabic , he host experts in the field almost all of them work to microsoft (He also work in Microsoft).
Also he host successfull people such as an arabic game developer work on Halo .
And great expert tips about the industry .
I am addict to his podcasts , I lean a lot (fat lot) .

I’m glad you started this thread. I want to get into the tech/webdev community and wasn’t sure where to start. These reply’s give me something to go off of. How about some magizines/ezines or other forums? What’s everyones main source they use to stay up to date with the community? Oh and I will definitely be following you after checking your YouTube content. Your material is done very well.

I just love fireship. Trying to do something same with my channel but specific to Javascript related content.
AngelSix is the channel where I learned the most. He has a series were he was building a chat app for Windows. The videos were long form and showed how a seasoned dev would reason about a standard problem applied to a specific use case. Also the nitty gritty grind of working in Visual Studio was helpful to watch.
That's an interesting style, I'm definitely going go check out that channel. Cheers!

I enjoy watching the occasional snippets of Jonathan Blow streams. He live streams his development on his new language Jai fairly occasionally, and discusses language/compiler design. It's primarily geared towards game development, which isn't my forte, but you can still glean useful information from it nonetheless.

Whatever video is the shortest for the content I'm looking for. I'm not a 4 year old who needs to know how to declare a variable everytime you declare one.
For me it depends on what I'm looking for and watching it for.
I myself really enjoy videos that really show the entire development process for something. Pretty much watching someone build something live. I enjoy seeing what an actually developer goes through when developing something, instead of just the "ok, type this in, and type this in and you get this." Too me that feels too "fake" cause development is not perfect. You're not going to develop something perfectly in actuality.
Oh yeah streams are nice for real world things. I tend to focus on teaching the happy paths mostly but something I should think about 🤔
Probably I'm old-fashioned but I still prefer to read an article or a blog post rather than to watch a YouTube video, especially when it comes to programming. I understand that some topics like graphics (learning Photoshop, 3D modelling, filmmaking etc.) are better explained on video, but IMHO programming is not.
They say young people have short attention span so they cannot read long text, only watch short clips, but I feel like it works in the opposite way - I'm too impatient to spend time watching "if you like it please click Subscribe button" and similar buzz. I prefer to skim over text and read what looks interesting to me.
I used to watch channels of Kaushik (JavaBrains) and Nelson (Amigoscode) to learn the basics of Java and Spring. I also watch codevolution to learn some frontend too. I also follow fireship and Hithesh Chowdary for general dev videos
I like straight to the point videos that explain a problem. I don't like going through an hour's worth of video for the 2 minutes that I need.
Maybe some more CSS tutorials would be cool!
