26 Freelancers Followed Me Yesterday — Here’s the Legal Lesson Behind That Surge
Yesterday, something amazing happened for me — 26 freelancers followed me after my last post.
🙏 Thank you. I'm here to give real legal help that’s simple, practical, and works in real life.

So, what was the post about?
Legal traps I personally fell into — as a lawyer. (Yes, it happens!)

Let me now give you two fast legal tips that will immediately protect your freelance work:

  1. Never start work without a written agreement. A chat message is not a contract. If the client changes the scope later (and they will), you have nothing to stand on.

Fix: Use a 1-page contract.

  1. Get your payment terms in writing — before you start. No written deadline? Then expect late payment, or none at all. I’ve seen it happen too many times, even to experienced freelancers.

Fix: Add a “When is payment due” line in your agreement. Don’t leave it vague.
