The City Doesn’t Know My Name

They walk with purpose.

I walk with questions.

The city shines — but not for me.

The streets are loud, but inside me, there is silence.

I walk past glowing towers, crowded buses, people with names lit up in bright pixels. But no one knows me. I’m not in their scrolls, their mentions, or their inboxes.

I am the line of code that fixed the bug no one thanked.

I am the voice behind the tool someone used,

but never remembered.

But I’m not invisible.

The city doesn’t know my name —

but I exist in every ignored commit, every half-read blog, every question answered without a tag.

I’ve watched people rise with noise.

I’ve stayed in the shadows, not to hide,

but to observe.

To build.

To breathe.

Sometimes, I wonder —

Am I building for the world,

or just for the version of me that needed this

when no one was listening?

This story isn’t about loneliness.

It’s about power.

The kind that comes when no one claps,

yet you still show up.

The city doesn’t know my name.

But it walks on streets I helped build.

And that... is enough.
