Q&A with the Angular team

ng-conf is a very famous Angular conference that took place two weeks ago. It also has a podcast under the name The Angular Plus Show. They published a recording of a panel discussion from that conference. Participants were members of the Angular team.

Among the many questions they answered, the Angular team also said that in the past they might have overstepped the number of tools that the framework provides. So they started to reduce that a little bit. At the moment, we clearly see this in the E2E testing area, where the framework leaves the decision to the developers.

Another interesting piece of information was that Angular wants to continue integrating best practices, as they have already done with the NgOptimizedImage directive in v14.2.

nx 14.7 & Cypress component test runner

As mentioned last week, Cypress, a testing framework, updated their component tester so that it can also run in projects that don't follow the Angular CLI conventions.

Nx, which does exactly do that, has already integrated that update and starting from version 14.7, you can use the Cypress' component test runner out of the box.

ngGaming

We also had the ngGaming show. This is a monthly live stream on YouTube where Jeremy Elbourne and Mark Thompson from the Angular team answer questions.

This time it was a little bit different though.

Jeremy live-coded and created the card game Spades in a pretty entertaining way.
