  • Read their resume for the first time in front of them.
  • Ask only closed yes/no questions, not open questions.
  • Ask questions, looking for specific answers.
  • Show up late.
  • Fail to make eye contact / treat them as a stranger. Every new hire is a potential new friend.
  • Make negative remarks about the company, workload, team, or product.
