Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet an HR representative from SCYO Decision Services. Her name is Ms. Oviya, and she gave us a brief but detailed introduction about the company and the job roles available.
She explained that there are two main job roles at SCYO:
1. AR Caller (Voice Process)
2. Non-Voice Process
AR Caller Role – What is RCM?
For the AR Caller role, she introduced us to the term RCM, which means Revenue Cycle Management. RCM is the process followed in the U.S. healthcare system to manage payment and billing for medical services.
She said there are three important people involved in RCM:
Patient – the person who receives treatment
Provider – the doctor or hospital (called "provider" in the U.S.)
Payer – the insurance company (called "payer" in the U.S.)
The AR Caller works to follow up with insurance companies (payers) in the U.S. to make sure hospitals and doctors (providers) receive their payments on time for the services given to patients.
