Hey, everybody! Today, a difficult topic for many of us - the current job market situation. I've decided to discuss it; I hope it comes in handy:
First of all, the tech job market in 2025 isn’t quite like the one we knew a few years ago. The boom days of “any developer can land 5-10 job offers” are behind us. This means we need to adapt.
🚩 The Market Has Changed
We’re still seeing layoffs from big tech companies, but at the same time, smaller companies, startups, and Web3 projects are still hiring. The competition is higher though, and many companies are being much pickier with who they hire.
A few things driving the changes:
- AI tools are handling some of the “easy coding” work
- Many companies prefer multi-skilled developers (full-stack, DevOps, cloud, AI integrations, etc.)
- Remote work is still around but not as dominant — some companies are slowly pushing back toward hybrid or in-office roles
- Companies care more about real projects and problem-solving skills rather than just degrees or certificates
🧠 What Companies Are Looking for in 2025
- AI familiarity — the more, the better.
- Cloud skills
- Security awareness — Especially in the Web3 field
- Soft skills — is a must-have
- Adaptability
💡 Tips for Job Seekers in 2025
- Focus on real projects. Side projects, freelance gigs, open-source contributions — these matter more than just listing skills.
- Learn to work with AI, not fear it.
- Keep your LinkedIn active. Many recruiters still live there. Share projects, write short posts, and engage.
- Don’t skip the basics. Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design still matters in interviews.
- Customize your applications, CVs and portfolios.
In the end, we all began with something. So keep moving!
