Day 5: For all blogging matters ✍️

Today I'd like to share with you a different kind of utility - and it's a CMS that runs as an extension for your IDE called Front Matter.

This extension works for any markdown file-based website, for example it fuels my personal blog:

I'm using @std/front-matter package along with marked as my blog runs on Deno, but FM would work with anything that has markdown files in folders.

Maybe you can even use it with your Dev.to drafts?😏

Because it has plenty of handy features, such as:

  • Search & filters
  • Preview
  • SEO checks(!)

Here's how a preview & editor looks like:
Editor panel

You can set preview to actual dev server and see it with the applied design. And a top of that you can extend almost any part of UI and add custom scripts to it!

Enjoy and share your creations!

Liked the content and would love to have more of it all year long?
