Prerequisite

We have already installed iTerm2 on Mac.

Config Hotkey

At first, set hotkey to open iTerm2 terminal window instantly.

Go to Preference → Keys → Hotkey, and check the show/hide all windows with a system-wide hotkey checkbox and choose the hotkey combination. My personal key: ⌥ + empty-space

Exclude iTerm2 from Tab-switcher

Go to Preferences → Appearance, and check Exclude from docker and ⌘-Tab Switcher.

Config the window in iTerm2 profile

🔥 Now config the correct window size and position in profile

Run iTerm2 on startup

Go to System Preferences → users and groups. Then choose default user and go to Login Items tab. Add iTerm2 as new item to run it on startup.

Done !

Now we can open iTerm2 everywhere, just enter ⌥ + empty-space
